If you shave your face and/or body, hopefully these simple shaving hacks will make your life easier … and get you out the door feeling and looking great!
#1: Take your time. We know you’re busy and you do this often. But don’t rush. Make sure your razor is rinsed clean, dried and stored in a dry place not in the shower. This consistent practice ensures that the blade remains sharper longer. Make sure your skin is also clean prior to the shave. The use of a gentle non-comedogenic cleanser with antioxidants (ex. vitamins A & C) is recommended.
#2: No water? No problem. Our Clear Shave 3 in 1 Formula lets you shave anywhere, any time — since no water is needed. The clear gel delivers sculpted mustaches, beards and sideburns, clean necklines, head and body hair removal, etc. The easy glide botanical-based formula ensures healthy moisturized skin, eliminating redness and razor burn. With a natural built-in botanical toner, it also helps prevent in-grown hairs.
#3: If you shave during the shower or right after – the quicker the shave cream or gel is applied to a moist face, the more effective it will be in preventing razor burn and other potential shaving concerns. “Always remember that the razor is a sharp blade going across your face so, the more protection the better,” explains Craig the Barber, Hollywood’s top groomer. If you prefer a cream, Burke Avenue by Craig the Barber (https://www.burkeavenue.co) – Moisturizing Shave Cream is formulated to use with water.
#4: Exfoliate twice a week. Exfoliation means gently scrubbing off the top layer of dead skin. For men, exfoliating the cheeks, chin and upper lip is especially important, because it also gets rid of built up dirt, sweat, and ingrown hair. Exfoliating twice a week is a good way to clear pores and avoid the annoying and painful bumps and breakouts associated with shaving daily. But remember, exfoliating too much or too hard can make skin dry.
Our exfoliating Face & Body Scrub is made for men’s skin using a unique blend of organic lime peel oil, jojoba, ginseng, kelp, azulene and aloe.
#5: Spend money on a good razor. The fancy 5-blade razors cost more than the ones you use once and toss but are better quality and last longer. Don’t hit the razor against the edge of the sink as it scratches the blade, simply rinse it.
#5: Use short overlapping strokes with-the-grain. “This allows for a smooth and close shave while reducing the number of times the razor touches the face; thereby creating the potential for less shaving irritation,” explains Craig the Barber.
#6: If you prefer to use water, be sure to finish your shave with cool water to aid in calming and tightening the skin. Otherwise, if you use our Clear Shave gel, you’re all set as this formula works three ways — pre-shave, shave, and post shave given its natural properties.
#7: Heal and moisturize. We saved you a step…Multifunctional products like our Power Hydrator aftershave will not only save you time but your face! Made with powerful antioxidants and botanicals, it soothes and moisturizes your skin without the sting of alcohol-based aftershaves which dry out the skin.
#8: Got cuts? Use a styptic pen or even a natural formula lip balm in case of nicks and cuts. Our Lip Balm Agent contains mint and vitamin E to help soothe and cool the skin…along with your lips.
