Eye Creams: Do Men Really Need Them

Eye Skincare Treatment for Men:  Why Is It Important?

You can be in great shape, eat healthy and even dress like a rock star to look young, but the eyes are really windows to the soul…and they are the first thing to show signs of aging.

In fact, market data suggests that nearly 20% of men are concerned about their dark under eye circles and sunken eyes. That being said, you should consider the benefits of using an eye skincare treatment. Because the skin around the eyes is often thinner and has fewer sebaceous glands, it is prone to dryness and dehydration. And because our eyes are always moving (from blinking, squinting, smiling, etc), the skin there will naturally accelerate the formation of fine lines and wrinkles.

The main issues – wrinkles, puffiness, dark circles

Wrinkles: As with the rest of the body, UV radiation/sunlight is the main culprit of photo damage and aging. Coupled with the constant movement around the eye area, rubbing the eyes due to tiredness, itchiness and allergies will also aggravate the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Puffiness: Usually caused by lack of sleep, dehydration, genetics, a diet high in sodium and/or certain health conditions, the skin area around the eyes will get inflamed.

Dark circles: Similar to puffiness, the cause varies and also includes hyper- pigmentation, excessive sun exposure, and genetically thinner skin.

While nighttime eye care usually focuses on repair, morning eye care should be focused on refreshing the eye area along with sun protection — anytime you spend even a short amount of time outside.

Whether you’re going out after a long day or want to reduce puffiness after a late night, our 911 Eye Gel helps rejuvenate and restore tired eyes, and refreshes like a cooling mini-ice pack when stored in the fridge. Our hypo-allergenic, oil-free formula contains a unique combination of chamomile, aloe, eyebright, allantoin, and wheat protein.  And, a touch of Mica which bounces back light, will literally brighten the eye socket area to look more youthful.

Along with reducing your salt and alcohol intake, eating healthy and getting enough exercise, water and sleep, think of our eye gel as the perfect remedy for puffy eyes, dark circles, allergies, too little sleep (e.g. taking a red-eye), sunburn, or just having a bad day.  Simple to use, it’s easy skincare that solves an appearance problem faced by so many men and women everyday.

How To Use A Concealer for Men

Want to know one of the best kept secrets to looking good and being more confident? Answer: Concealers. They’re easy to use and are undetectable when applied correctly.  You’ll simply look more rested, younger, with healthier skin.  Here are four easy steps to learning how to use concealers, no matter what your age or skin color, or how much sleep you’ve had!

Why is concealer important? Concealers lighten dark circles under eyes, covers redness, breakouts, sun spots, scars, minor blemishes and even softens expression lines. Our CAMO Concealer for Men comes in an easy roll up stick (just like a lip balm), is specially formulated for men’s oilier skin, lasts all day and is effective even under the glare of hot lights – perfect for those in front of the camera or on set.   Your skin will look totally natural whether outdoor or indoors, in photos, videos, etc.

Whether you’re a 20-year-old model or an established businessman, the skin around the eyes is more fragile and often visibly darker than the surrounding skin on everyone’s face. Just a bit of concealer will brighten the face and make you look more rested. Think of concealer as a quick spot treatment.

Choosing a shade? Like other MËNAJI products, our concealer is meant to be undetectable because many men just want to look fresh and awake without the look of “makeup.” In choosing a concealer to lighten dark shadowy skin, choose a shade slightly lighter than your predominant skin tone. Determine this shade by looking at the skin on the inside of your arm and choose a shade that best matches this area. Some men with darker or uneven skin tone may need to blend two shades – one lighter and another closer to the actual skin tone.  If you have a specific skin condition, or are darker in the summer, then you will need more than one shade.

Our shades – Light, Medium, Sand, Olive, Bronze and Deep – are universally designed to match every skin tone, either blended or used alone, and deliver the best results when combined our other products and powders.

But don’t sweat about which shade to choose. Sometimes it takes time. If you need assistance, call us at 800-551-5067, email us and send a photo…we’re always happy to help!

Applying concealer… Apply on a clean and moisturized face, lightly using your ring finger. Don’t rub! Check the under eye area so you know where the darker, shadowy area begins and ends. Only put concealer where you need it. BLEND lightly so that there is no delineation between the area where you have applied your concealer and where you haven’t.  Start with a little, you can always add more.  And, if you think that it is visible, try blending a bit more.  Let us know how it goes…
